ABOUT US
ZOÉ LU was founded as a German designer handbag label by friends and designers Larissa and Uli. The bags and smart accessories are designed in Munich and handcrafted from high-quality Italian leather. For the production of our handbags, we work exclusively with the most experienced partners in India and Europe.
ZOÉ LU is inspired by friendship and the facets of the female personality. The two founders, Larissa and Uli, are similar yet completely different. Versatility and individuality are therefore also reflected in the designs, which are created in many different colors, patterns, and material textures.
ZOÉ LU stands for female power, friendship, joy, and authenticity - with our bag designs, we want to offer everyone the opportunity to express their own interpretation of these values.
THE HANDBAG REVOLUTION
One handbag, endless looks. Our handbags can be combined with different changeable flaps and completely transformed in style with ease. With each individual combination, bag and fashion lovers can express different facets of their personality and match their bag to any outfit.
It’s as easy as it sounds: Choose a Main Bag and a changeable flap - zip it on, zip it off. Finally, add a matching strap, either as a crossbody strap or a short strap, depending on the outfit.
FEMALE FOUNDERS
Family Business 2.0: Larissa and Uli have known each other since they were 13 and met at school. Ever since, they have been inseparable BFFs. Together, they studied design and then worked successfully for several years in the handbag industry at renowned companies. Until their experience convinced them that there had to be another way. No more lots of bags in different versions, designs, and sizes. No more constant repacking either: HELLO One bag, many looks! And so the idea for the unique, versatile handbag was born. The two founders launched their dream of their own handbag label in the basement of Larissa’s parents’ house - and with it, the beginning of a true handbag revolution.
PRODUCTION
We have very high expectations: of ourselves, our products, and everyone who works with and for us. This attitude is also reflected in the exceptional design and premium quality of our bags. We know where our products come from and who makes them. Our Indian production partners care about the well-being of their employees. Fair wages, social and pension insurance, inclusion of people with disabilities, and free medical care are just a few examples. Perhaps that is why some employees have been working for our partners for more than 30 years.
